Attention Kanopy users!
Because video streaming with Kanopy has been so popular, we’re expanding access to all of our Northern Waters Library Network libraries. In order to make the transition to our new system-wide access, you’ll need to make a small change to your account.
After March 1, 2023, our local platform address (mercerpubliclibrary.kanopy.com) will no longer work. You’ll need to access Kanopy on the new Northern Waters Library Network platform at northernwaters.kanopy.com.
To update your account, please complete one of the following:
- Use the Kanopy website: Visit the new website at northernwaters.kanopy.com and log in with your existing account username/email and password. The system will show you your account information and there will be a spot to re-enter your library card number to complete your registration with Northern Waters. (Note: If you also use the mobile app, you may have to open the app, tap on More, tap your name, and tap “Active” next to Northern Waters Library Service to complete the switch.)
- Use the Kanopy mobile app: Open the app, tap More at the bottom of the screen, tap on your name, then tap “Add a library.” Search for Northern Waters, then re-enter your library card number.
Once you’ve completed this change, when you look at your account on Kanopy it will show that you are a member of Northern Waters Library Service.
Don’t worry: Your Watch List, Continue Watching, and Custom Playlist items will transfer over to your new account, and you’ll still have 5 credits per month to watch the films and TV shows that you’ve already been enjoying on Kanopy.
