Beginning Photography with your Smartphone

August 20 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Smartphones have eliminated the need for expensive cameras to get a quality image. Thanks to this fantastic photo taking tool, it only takes a bit of time and attention to capture that beautiful image, that precious moment, that memory… you see right before your eyes. Join photographer Aline Fetter in learning the fundamentals of smartphone photography, from basic camera functions to composition tips and techniques.

This free workshop will be presented at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20. The first half of the class will be instructional, the second half you will shoot indoors and outdoors trying different techniques. All you need to bring is your smartphone.

Aline Fetter has been a full-time resident of the Northwoods since 2018. She began her photographic journey as an advertising executive, supervising dozens of photo shoots and reviewing thousands of photographs, before studying photography at the College of DuPage. Inspired by her passion for nature, Aline began exploring the waterways, roads, and paths of the Northwoods with her camera in hand. She strives to capture the unique moments and patterns in an all-too-transient world. From the subtle beauty of a sun dappled waterlily to the vivacious reflections of autumn on fast moving water, she uses her camera to celebrate nature as it is written in light.

This program is offered to the public at no charge as part of the Mercer Library Artist in Residence program, thanks to support from the Friends of the Mercer Public Library. Space is limited, so please call the library at 715-476-2366 to register in advance.
