Eclipse observations at the Library
April 8 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
FreeAll are welcome to visit the library to observe the partial solar eclipse happening on April 8, 2024. The library will have our Sunspotter scope, telescope fitted with a solar filter, pinhole viewers, and eclipse glasses so you can watch the celestial show! We’ll also be collecting other data to show the effects of the eclipse on our atmosphere. Students from Mercer School will be visiting during the eclipse, and members of the public are also welcome.
PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY AT THE SUN! It is not safe to view a partial eclipse without eye protection. There will be no point during this eclipse where it will be safe to look at the eclipse directly in Wisconsin. Use safe and approved eclipse glasses, a pinhole viewer, or another indirect method to view this eclipse.
This event will be held outdoors on the library grounds. In case of inclement weather, the event may be canceled. For more information, call the library at 715-476-2366.
