The Friends of the Mercer Public Library presented library director Teresa Schmidt with a check for the library’s Building Fund. The Friends contributed over $50,000 toward the Mercer Library expansion project, and have continued to support the library addition with the purchase of tables and chairs for our meeting room, a new fireplace insert, storage shelving, and plans for new cabinetry in the director’s office.
The Friends of the Mercer Library host programs and activities throughout the year, and use the proceeds of their work to support many library activities. In the past, the Friends have supported programming for children and adults, purchased equipment and materials for the library, and sponsored several holiday activities.
