The "Never Had It So Good" group holds twice-weekly AA meetings at the Mercer Library. Thursday night meetings are an Open Meeting and are held at 7:30 p.m. from May through October and at 7:00 p.m. from November through April. Sunday meetings are an Open Big Book Study and are held at 6:00 p.m. year-round.
The Mercer Library is excited to be hosting a Local History Walk on Thursday, September 27 from 1:30-2:30pm! Library Assistant Blaze will lead the walk starting near the Historic Depot on Railroad St. The length will be less than a mile round trip on paved roads and sidewalks. The tour will move through the downtown area of Mercer highlighting former locations tied to crime and nefarious activities. Through the tour Blaze will also tell a real life murder mystery involving crime, moonshine, fist fights, court cases, motorcycles and multiple deaths. This tour contains adult content and will be less than ½ mile in length with a few stops, it should take about an hour from start to finish. In the case of inclement weather, we will hold a guided history discussion in the library instead. All are welcome and no registration is required. The Friends of the Mercer Public Library holds regular monthly meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 11:00 a.m. New volunteers are always welcome! If you'd like to attend by Zoom, please call the library at 715-476-2366 for the link. The Friends of the Library are a registered 501(c)(3) organization that seeks to support the work of the Mercer Library.
