The Mercer Public Library is hosting an electronic recycling program on Tuesday, October 1 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm or until the trucks are full! AA Open Meeting

The "Never Had It So Good" group holds twice-weekly AA meetings at the Mercer Library. Thursday night meetings are an Open Meeting and are held at 7:30 p.m. from May through October and at 7:00 p.m. from November through April. Sunday meetings are an Open Big Book Study and are held at 6:00 p.m. year-round.

Friends of the Library regular meeting

The Friends of the Mercer Public Library holds regular monthly meetings on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at 11:00 a.m. New volunteers are always welcome! If you'd like to attend by Zoom, please call the library at 715-476-2366 for the link. The Friends of the Library are a registered 501(c)(3) organization that seeks to support the work of the Mercer Library. They assist with library events and fund programming, library materials, and special events that are not covered under the library's operating budget. Attend a meeting to see how you can help!

Success with Soils and Composting

This program is the first in the Fall 2024 Iron County UW Extension Horticulture Seminar series. Thursday, October 10 9:00am-11:00am - Iron County Courthouse, Hurley 1:30pm-3:30pm - Mercer Public Library, Mercer Good soil conditions are key for gardening success. Essential components of soils and how various amendments and fertilizer applications impact soil conditions for plant growth will be covered. Learn what you can do to ensure you have optimum soil conditions in your yard and garden. Compost is one of the better soil amendments – discussion will also include the fundamentals to make your own backyard compost.
