Save the date! The Friends of the Mercer Public Library are excited to announce their upcoming fundraising event, A Midsummer Tea at the Library, on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
The Midsummer Tea will feature a three-course traditional afternoon tea designed and prepared by chef Karen Palmquist, including a variety of tea sandwiches, scones, pastries, traditional tea and coffee. Attendees will enjoy a delicious tea experience seated in the library at a table with fine linens and china, and accompanied by live music from harpist Callie Bates. All are encouraged to dress for the event in their hats and Sunday best.
In addition to the tea, there will also be drawings for tea-themed baskets filled with lovely tea accessories and other delightful surprises.
The Friends of the Mercer Public Library are dedicated to supporting the library and its mission to provide educational and cultural programs to the community. All proceeds from this event will help the library develop “book walks” to share stories at trails, parks, and other outdoor locations in the Mercer community.
“We are excited to host this special event and invite the community to join us for an afternoon of tea, music, and fun,” said planning committee chair Mary Warren.
Tickets for A Midsummer Tea at the Library will go on sale on May 1 and must be purchased in advance. Tickets are $35 per person and seating is limited, so be sure to get your tickets early.

The Friends of the Mercer Public Library would like to thank the community for their continued support and are looking forward to seeing you at A Midsummer Tea at the Library!
