❄️❄️ When Will It Melt? ❄️❄️
March 14 - March 31Free
Our annual snow guessing contest is back!
Place your guess for when the snow pile across the street will finally be completely gone, and you could win a cash prize! This is the location where our hardworking Town of Mercer road crew members pile up snow from the downtown area, so it’s full of sand and salt – sometimes that means it sticks around a lot longer than the rest of the snow in town. Who will correctly guess the date when the last of the snow is gone?
The Friends of the Library are giving away $100 in CASH prizes to the person(s) who guess the closest date without going over. Stop by the library by March 31 to place your guess!
Here’s the fine print:
- One guess per person. Up to two (2) people may select the same calendar date.
- All guesses must be placed by March 31.
- Cash prizes totalling $100 will be awarded to the guesses with the closest date without going over. Prize money will be distributed in such a way that the first prize winner(s) will receive the largest amount and the second prize winner(s) will receive a smaller amount. Exact prize amounts will vary depending on the number of winning guessers.
- The snow pile is determined to be GONE when library staff can no longer find any frozen snow or ice in the area of the snow pile. The staff member may “poke it with a stick” to be sure that no frozen ice is remaining under the dirt.
