The Rice Lake Association invites the public to a presentation on the Turtle River Chain of Lakes: History and Science on Wednesday, October 12 at 3:30 to 6:00 PM in the Mercer Community Center.

Scheduled presentations include:

  • “Superhighway for Native Americans and loggers” – Jim Bokern, Manitowish Waters Historical Society
  • “Headwater Lakes of the Turtle River” – Jamie Van, North Lakeland Discovery Center water program director
  • “Watershed Water Quality and Invasive Species Status” – Zach Wilson, Iron County Land and Water Conservation specialist
  • “The Fishery of the Turtle River and Its Chain of Lakes” – Zach Lawson, Wisconsin DNR fisheries biologist
  • Q&A Panel discussion
