Colossal Fossils: Whale of a Tale!

July 29 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Free

Most Wisconsin kids don’t know how big a whale truly is. Let’s change that!

Join us for a program with “Colossal Fossils,” where you’ll see some of the extremely gargantuan bones from the largest animals that ever lived: whales. You’ll meet modern animals like the humpback whale, their dolphin cousins, orcas, and their ancient ancestors, Basilosaurus and Zygorhiza. There will be plenty of “oohs” and “aahs” as we see some of these massive fossils!

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Mercer Public Library and is part of the 2021 Summer Learning Program, “Tails and Tales.” The program is free and all are welcome!

The program will be held outdoors in good weather, or inside the community center if we cannot be outdoors. If the program is held indoors, unvaccinated visitors will be encouraged to wear a mask.

For more information, call the library at 715-476-2366.
