Mercer Memories Interview: The Brunner sisters

October 23 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

Free

The Mercer Public Library will host a  “Mercer Memory” interview on Wednesday, October 23 at 1:00 p.m. These events are designed to share stories about what life was like in Mercer in the past.

The featured guests on October 23 will be Jean White (nee Brunner) and her sisters, Margaret (Peg) Brunner and Kathy Kadrlik (nee Brunner). The Brunner name is a well-known one in Mercer’s history, and the Brunner sisters will share stories of their father Frank Brunner, who created the first Smokey Bear costume, and of growing up in Mercer in the 20th century.

The Library and Historical Society plan to continue with a series of interviews with longtime Mercer residents in order to capture more stories of the community’s history. If you or someone you know would like to participate, contact the library at 715-476-2366.

The event is free and open to the public. The library will provide coffee and refreshments, and the public is welcome to attend and listen. The Mercer Public Library is located at 2648 Margaret Street, Mercer. For more information, call the library at 715-476-2366.
